After a strong May, exports of Swedish sawmills has slowed significantly in June. A total of 1.03 million cubic meters were sold abroad, which were 14.2% less than in the reference month last year. Sweden: Krona Compensates For Price Increases in Lumber

The weak euro measured by the Swedish Krona compensates for price increases in softwood lumber. Compared to January 2011, there are slight price increases in the Swedish export statistics for both, total exports (rough and planed) and rough pine lumber. This statement is valid for the Swedish Krona values. Translated into euros, it remains only a small price increase or even a decline. Accordingly, deliveries in the euro zone are over the previous year: France +2.7%, Germany +16% or the Netherlands +4.7%.
