The German producer prices for Douglas fir showed a slight to significant upward trend in December 2020 - with the exception of Douglas fir short, whose downward trend, however, weakened again compared to November (-0.8% to 37 points). On average, however, the index for Douglas fir rose slightly (0.8%) and reached 63.8 points - 1% higher than in December 2019. Douglas fir pulpwood rose by 4.5% to 46.8 points and Douglas fir long dared to jump again by 11.6% to a level of 70.2 points.
Compared with other softwoods, Douglas fir scored points in November 2020 by exceeding the previous year's value. It has been comparatively stable in price since February. However, spruce recently made particularly strong gains. And the price of the pine was closest to the comparable value from 2015.
