In Norway, a total of 2.7 million cubic metres of roundwood were cut for sale in the 1st quarter of 2015. This is 7 percent more than in the corresponding quarter of 2014. The average Norwegian roundwood price rose by 2 percent in the same period.
The aggregated gross value of roundwood in Norway sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 937 million (EUR 111 million) in the first quarter of 2015; an increase of NOK 80 million (EUR 9,5 million) compared with the corresponding quarter in 2014. According to preliminary calculations, Norwegian forest owners obtained NOK 351 (EUR 41,77) per cubic metre; an increase of NOK 6 (EUR 0,71) compared with the first quarter of 2014.
Trade figures show that 840 000 cubic metres of roundwood were exported from Norway in the first quarter of 2015, which is 31 percent of all harvested volume for sale in this period.
